German Mike's Food Truck was created from a simple love of food and family. Our business is built on a lived experiences. German Mike was born and raised in Friederichsdorf, Germany. He spent thirty years there before emigrating to the United States in 1993. Michelle, our co-founder, met Michael while completing a two-year freight Ausbildung (vocational apprenticeship) in Frankfurt, Germany. Their daughter, Shay, co-founder, studied and interned abroad in Frankfurt, Karlsruhe, Trier, and Jena, Germany. The food we serve isn't inspired by Germany. It is Germany.
From bratwurst and currywurst to schnitzel, sauerkraut and rotkohl, every item on our menu draws from the authentic street food German Mike grew up with.
